The Sedona Entrepreneurial Artist Development Program (SEAD) is a two-day immersive experience designed to help visual artists strengthen the foundation of their creative lives. SEAD invites artists to look at their practice through an entrepreneurial lens — not to change who they are, but to empower them with the tools, clarity, and confidence needed to grow.
Built by Sedona Arts Center, SEAD provides practical, real-world guidance for artists at any stage of their journey. The program covers strategic planning, writing an artist statement, crafting a professional resume and bio, understanding branding and marketing, financial organization, and the day-to-day structure of sustaining a creative career.
Throughout the weekend, participants work with experienced instructors, supportive staff, and a community of fellow artists who are navigating the same questions:
How do I share my work?
How do I talk about it?
How do I support myself through my art?
How do I take the next step?
SEAD is designed to help artists answer those questions with clarity and purpose — and to create a personalized strategic plan they can actually use moving forward. Artists who complete the program and submit an accepted plan within one year are eligible to apply for a $500 grant to support their next steps.
Whether you’re building a career, returning to your practice, or stepping into your creative voice for the first time, SEAD provides the structure, community, and support to help you move forward with intention.
The SEAD Program was created by Sedona Arts Center to uplift artists, strengthen creative careers, and invest in the future of Sedona’s arts community.
